The NooK
where books, art, and beverages collide
Located behind Thirdway Coffeehouse in Columbus OH, The Nook is the brainchild of former library kid-turned-muralist Luka Weinberger (they/them). Luka’s vision was an outdoor library filled with books that kids could read at the coffeeshop with their parents, and where reading and writing events could take place during the warmer months. The books chosen for the collection uplift diverse voices, narratives, and issues to reflect the diverse neighborhood in which it resides. Here, kids of all ages can find books that help them navigate complex issues while leaning into love, empathy, and respect for all.

We will be implementing regular story times conducted by Westside community organizers, artists, social workers, and educators. We are always looking for community members who want to host events for the Hilltop youth. Are you an author, educator, or youth organizer?
